Middleton Limestone Mine was a limestone mine (with a secondary smaller lead mine) opening in 1959 and finally closing in 2005. With 40 staff (16 working underground)
5 levels and between 30 and 75 miles of road ways doesn’t even begin to describe the scale of this place. She’s a big lady.
