London Road Fire Station 11th February 2008
London Road Fire Station is a former fire station, police station and coroner’s court, in Manchester, England. Open from 1906 until 1974 it was the headquarters of the Manchester fire brigade and is a grade II listed building. In February 2006 a developer revealled plans to transform the building into a music and arts venue.
There would be a 100-bed hotel and a mix of other uses each taking up about 5-10,000 sq ft: recording studios, private club, music academy and archive which has been backed by the council.
As the future of the building isn’t known for sure it is relatively certain it will become this venue.
